How did the group get started?

It all started back in the summer of 2018 when group founder Anna Laloe was looking for ways to keep her own two girls engaged in biking. “I started this selfishly for my then six- and eight-year-old daughters. When you hike and bike with your own children, they’ll often complain. But, as soon as other adults or kids join, the complaints stop.” Four years later, Saratoga Shredders has registered over 300 kids and includes 50+ volunteer coaches and mentors.

Saratoga Shredders offers a ride session every fall and again during the spring and summer. We also offer summer camps throughout the summer for riders of all ages and abilities. Take a look at our current offerings and register here.

Is this a competitive team?

No, but also yes... Saratoga Shredders is a group for ALL children and youth - regardless of level or ability. Our K-5 program offers different levels of ride groups from super beginner to more advanced. Our grade 5-12 program is an official NICA team which offers race opportunities for those who are interested. Racing is NOT required and is an option should your child choose to participate. We welcome all riders at all levels!

How much does it cost?

Our priority is always to make our programs accessible to ALL families so we aim to keep our costs reasonable and offer financial assistance and loaner bikes whenever needed.
